Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive

Big Bend is too big to see in a single day, but a great one-day trip in the park is a trip down the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive and a visit to the Chisos Basin.
The Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive gives amazing views of the Chihuahuan Desert landscape and leads you to the banks of the Rio Grande.
Santa Elena Canyon, a highlight of the park, is at the end of the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive.
the Fossil Discovery Exhibit is located 8 miles north of Panther Junction and is another park highlight.
